I know it’s been a while since our last post so please forgive me.
I witnessed something I just had to share, it’s so incredible you’ll have a hard time believing me.
When it comes to safety, it’s always on my mind, no matter what situation I’m in. I’m a huge advocate of safety and it should be everyone’s top priority. Especially when you’re around swimming pools or bodies of water in general. Water, as simple as it may seem can be extremely dangerous if not handled correctly. In this specific case, we were outside by the pool on a very hot, sticky day. Spending most of our time in the pool was our main objective.
The only problem is that we spent so long in the pool that we lost track of time and spent more time than we had anticipated. By the end of the day, we were all very tired from being out in the sun all day. But once tiredness kicks in, that’s when problems can arise. Being that we were all very exhausted, we tend to let our guard down which is a big mistake. Either way, we were all finally leaving the pool after a long day and right as we were leaving, the pool maintenance company was showing up. They were scheduled to perform regular maintenance every week on the pool and this evening was their time. So we cleared out just in time for the pool company to situate themselves and as I was walking out, I noticed something very strange. On the back of the pool maintenance shirt read “Aquadynamics Pool & Spa Care, LLC.” and I thought, “hmm, that company seems very familiar”, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
Either way, fast forward to the next day. We arrive at the pool again because it’s supposed to be another scorching hot day. We get there and guess what, the pool company is still there. Apparently they had pulled an all-nighter trying to service the swimming pool. I asked them why it was taking so long and they told me they had tested the pool for algae and it came back positive. And with pools, if the chlorine can’t kill the algae, it definitely isn’t going to kill bacteria, viruses, parasites, and other nasty pathogens. The scariest part is that we had no idea this pool wasn’t clean.
Thankfully Aquadynamics Pool & Spa Care was there for their scheduled weekly maintenance. If it wasn’t for them, there is a good chance one of us could have gotten sick swimming in that pool. Again, thanks Aquadynamics for keeping our swimming area nice and clean. I found their website, so check them out if you want to see a really great pool company – www.aqdpools.com
